Step 1
Casting on is simple. Place the yarn on your right hand, with the short end (about 120cm long) in front of the hand. This step makes up the first stitch. Hold the 2 strands of yarn with the three fingers of your left hand as shown in the picture below.
Step 2
Place the thumb and first finger through the front and in between the two yarns. Open the two fingers and bend your right hand away and down from the left hand.
Step 3
Open the thumb and finger and bend the right hand away and down from the left hand.
Step 4
Place the four fingers of the right hand under and through the loop on your left hand thumb.
Step 5
Pick up the yarn on the first finger of the left hand
Step 6
Pull this yarn through and place over the 4 fingers of the right hand, this is the second stitch.
Step 7
Release the yarn from the left-hand thumb and pull the front yarn to get a tight and even border at the lower edge of the right hand
Step 8
Repeat the above steps 12 times for the shawl-scarf until you have 14 stitches on your hand.
Step 9
Transfer all the stitches to the 4 fingers of the left hand, turning the stitches around to have the knitting yarn at the end of the fingers, make a short loop by folding the yarn.
Step 10
Push the loop through the first stitch.
Step 11
Place this loop on the 4 fingers of the right hand.
Step 12
At the same time drop the stitch from the left hand (if you don't drop the stitch, you will increase stitches by knitting two or more stitches on the same stitch)
Step 13
Put the right hand through the loop, placing the stitch on the wrist.
Step 14
Pick up the yarn from the back of the work, fold the yarn into a small loop and push this loop through the second stitch.
Step 15
Repeat these steps to the end of the first row. Transfer all the stitches from the right arm wrist to the 4 fingers of the left hand.
Step 16
The scarf grows so fast that it will be finished in less than 30 minutes.
If you don't want to finish the scarf in one sitting, place a waist yarn or string under all the stitches and tie a knot, until you are ready to continue.
To Cast off, allow about 120cm of yarn, place all the stitches on the largest knitting needles you have (20mm or 25mm) and cast off normally.
Cut 34 fringes before finishing the yarn. 4 Slubs per fringe. Cut several fringes from the Flowers yarn and loop them at the end of the scarf, alternating the 2 yarns, also attach 2 or 3 fringes on 4 th and 6 th rows. |
